Gratitude. I’ve found that it is simply a shift in perspective. It comes from a place of the ‘have not’ to the ‘have,’ from darkness to light, and from victim to privileged. Gratitude comes down to radical presence in the simple moments where the ordinary turns extraordinary. Gratitude has the profound power to fill our hearts with deep contentment. Our souls spillover in peace, stillness, and bliss.
This year I have integrated a non-negotiable practice of gratitude. Chaos roars, stress piles, victim mentality sets in, and life HAPPENS. And with that happening of life, two choices are presented: will I focus on the negative or will I rise above and seek gratitude? Trust me, it is not an easy feat to settle into that gratitude, but with practice our habits build. While habits build our character, and sooner than later, finding gratitude in the midst of the small challenges comes naturally. The bigger picture presents itself, we become observers of the situation, and we see the magnitude of true blessings. Lightness seeps in as the darkness evaporates.
It’s only 5:19am and I have a heart filled with gratitude.
Gratitude for the fresh flowers I have on my table, my hot coffee and my cozy robe.
Gratitude for the inner stillness I feel this morning as the world is sleeps, the sun waits to rise and the busy day is at bay.
Gratitude for a mom who sent me a Facebook message (she is 100% into Facebook now and I love it) saying: “Muenchie (that’s one of my many nicknames), I just want to hear your voice. Call me please. I love you.”
Gratitude for the change of weather in Phoenix allowing me to cozy up with flannel, booties and a scarf.
Gratitude for my simple home. White walls and no t.v. but that’s okay. I look around and this house became my home after months of working next to my pops, a dad who is unwavering with loyalty and big, giant, magnificent love.
GRATITUDE. It’s non negotiable in my life. It is a radically present moment by moment practice. Let’s take this month to explore our practice of giving thanks and let us continue to seek gratitude throughout our everyday practice of life, of learning and of love.
See the workshop schedule to sign up today and let us come together to tap into our heart space. Let’s be grateful.
