I went to Denver last month and discovered a brunch spot named Linger. It wasn’t the brunch, the food, the place, or the weather in particular, but it was that word, that all encompassing word, Linger. That word has stuck with me. Linger. To linger -- to last just a bit longer wrapped in those moments that really feel good. Those moments that let our souls float free of time, immersed in the rich bliss of peace and joy. There are those days we are asked to linger longer in those dark places to just feel for a moment how that pain can truly bring us to a level of compassion, of empathy, and of being truly alive through the darkness. It’s life that we have, to linger in the moments is to be present with ourselves, with our hearts, with our souls.
Right now may be a moment of linger in the midst of pain or frustration. Maybe it’s a moment of suffering. Now, here, presently lingering…. and in the very next moment... passing by. Joy may be right around that corner, peace may be right within our breath, stillness may flood through the gates any moment. Linger in this present moment, my dear, because soon this will pass, as it always does and always will. The waves will come and we will evolve. Strength will come in the most unique of forms, coursing through interpersonal relationships and streaming from the silver lining. Birds will continue their chirping, the sun will always rise. Lights will guide your soul home.
Let’s linger here. Let’s breathe in that pulse of authentic living. Let’s let the waves crash and let’s feel the depths. Let’s also know that in the very next moment we may be floating free, blissed and full, whole and alive. Let’s linger now and let’s always remember, times are a changin’ and right around that corner is a linger of lightness, of laughter, of joy, of peace, of stillness, of life.
Together, let’s linger.
I am with you, lingering these days through the ups and downs of this present moment. Lingering now, by your side. Always in spirit, I am here.
PS - I was feeling the Denver vibe when making my new fall headbands, so make sure to check them out.
